Check In/Out Process
I arrived after 830pm on a Saturday night and the check in process was very easy. The hotel has taken covid safety measures seriously by having plastic barrier up between you and the front desk staff, hand sanitizer available and a smooth process to help limit the interaction between guests. Actually for check out they prefer you to leave the keys in the room with no need to call, you will automatically be checked out at 11am on your departure date.
Upon checking in I received my keys and a paper that gave explanation of the safety measures and housekeeping information. At this time they are limiting housekeeping staff and housekeeping cleaning services are temporarily unavailable. You may request extra towels, garbage etc but housekeeping is not allowed to come in your room until after you have checked out. Each room is fully cleaned between guests and sanitized with a solution and a fogging machine that kinda looks like something out of a Star Wars movie.
There are several room options to choose from when booking. I chose the standard 2 queen room and the front desk was able to honor my request of being on the second floor near the lobby. My room (room 252) was in the building directly behind the lobby. This building has an interior corridor on the second floor, the first floor the room doors face the parking lot. I felt much safer being on the second floor but I also still felt safe when I was walking on the ground floor too.

My room was very spacious and comfortable. The room decor was simple yet very pleasant with white linen and a blue accent wall with palm trees. I did not notice any USB ports but there were plenty of wall outlets easily assessable. The lighting was excellent with dimmable can lights in the ceiling. The beds, bedding and the pillows were so soft I felt like I was sleeping in the clouds.
The bathroom is right there as you enter the room. First you will see an open style closet with hangers and ironing board. The tub shower combo was standard size with good temperature and water pressure. The vanity is separate from the show/toilet but it is separate from your sleeping area by only a wall but there is not a door. The vanity mirror was amazing and very bright. The light is built into the mirror which makes it easier to get ready or apply make up. I definitely want this mirror in my bathroom at home! There are NEW sealed complementary travel size soap, lotion and shampoo for your use.
The air conditioning unit is a wall mounted temperature controlled unit located under the window. That air conditioner worked amazing, the entire room cooled off quickly and stayed very cool. I typically run hot in hotel rooms and often set the air to 65 but the ac worked so well I was quite chilly at 72.
I didn’t have the opportunity to use any of the on property features. I did grab some fruit and drinks from the market which is located across from the lobby. They didn’t really have gluten free options besides what I mentioned but I had plenty of snacks from home that I brought with me and I ate most of my meals at Disneyland.
My overall impression of the Tropicana Inn and Suites is really good and the staff were very friendly. I really appreciated the extra safety and cleaning measures put in place. The price was very affordable and you can not beat the location. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I look forward to booking my next stay at the Tropicana Inn and Suites on my next visit to Disneyland as well.
