I received a complementary 2 night stay in the Two Queen 1 Bedroom suite in partnership with Get Away Today. The 1 bedroom suite is extremely spacious with a separate living room, kitchen/dining area from the bedroom. In the living room the sofa folds out to a bed and has a wall mounted TV as well as own thermostat controlled Air Conditioning. In the kitchenette is a full sized refrigerator, microwave and plenty of storage space. In addition, there is a small dining table with two chairs. I used a grocery delivery service shortly after arrival to stock up on essentials like bottled water, soda, and gluten free snacks. Keep in mind that only utensils are paper cups provided by the hotel in your room.
In the bedroom you will find a wall mounted TV, separate thermostat controlled Air conditioning, closet and two very comfortable queen beds. The room is rather spacious I never felt crowded sharing the space with the other adult who was traveling with me. The beds were so comfortable, in fact after I checked in I took a 3 hour nap and slept soundly each night of my stay. Extra bedding was available in the linen closet and housekeeping was just a phone call away should I needed anything else.
While I did not use the living room, I do appreciate having the extra sleeping option and a separate TV. The ability to control the thermostat to my desired temperature in both the living room and bedroom was extremely important. It was an extremely HOT visit during my stay and the Air Conditioning stayed nice and cool the entire trip. At night I was able to watch the Disneyland Fireworks show from the comfort of my hotel room.
The layout of the bathroom is unlike I've ever had in a hotel. I really appreciated that there was two separate showers for us to use. One of the showers was a tub/shower combo perfect for families with littles or to soak after a long day. The mirror in the bathroom was very high tech with the option to connect your phone via bluetooth and ample extra light to get ready each day.
In the morning there is a hot breakfast downstairs in the dining area with plenty of space to sit. While there was some confusion at first on the Gluten Free hot items I was able to request Gluten Free Muffins and Bagels from the hotel staff. You do need to ask the hotel staff to get the Gluten Free Udi's items for you which they have stored in a separate refrigerator not available for guests to grab themselves. I am not a big eater at breakfast so I was satisfied with fruit and the Gluten Free muffin.
While Disneyland is only a mile a way sometimes you don't always want to walk. Some of the transportation options if you do not have a car are Uber/Lyft, Public ART Bus, or Toy Story Shuttle. We often took the ride share Uber/Lyft going to Disneyland and then on the way back we utilized Disneyland's Toy Story Shuttle. Technically the Toy Story Shuttle is transportation from the Toy Story Parking lot to Disneyland for those who park their car but many of the Guests of the Hotels in the area are encouraged to use this FREE Shuttle service by Disneyland. There is a pedestrian walkway to/from the Toy Story lot and the Cambria is a short 10 minute walk of 0.5 mile. We had no issues using the Shuttle both during the day and at night.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Cambria Hotel & Suites. I would have liked to enjoy some of the other features of the property like the pool, waterpark and movie nights but there wasn't enough time in my days to partake. I observed many families at this hotel and I appreciate how the Cambria strives on making the hotel a family friendly atmosphere for everyone. The rooms, elevator and hallways were also extremely quiet and I appreciated that housekeeping didn't take up space in the hallways nor did they knock on my room when I was sleeping (yes I've been woken up by housekeeping at other Anaheim Hotels).
Whether you are a business traveler, adults only trip or a family with kids I'd highly suggest staying at the Cambria Hotel & Suites. You know that saying "I need a Vacation from my Vacation"? Well thats exactly what you get at the Cambria it's like having a mini vacation from the Hustle and Bustle of the Disneyland Resort, making your visit more enjoyable and fully relaxed when it's time to check out!
