Downtown Disney District is located just outside the gates of Disneyland and Disney California adventure parks in Anaheim, CA. Downtown Disney District has a variety of restaurants that offer gluten free options, shopping and experiences. You don’t need a ticket to Disneyland in order to visit the downtown Disney District area, however, you will need to go through the security checkpoint before entering.

A question that is commonly asked in the gluten-free Disneyland community is what are the gluten free options in the Downtown Disney District? There are a variety of restaurants that can accommodate gluten-free menu options. These restaurants are not run by Disney, they are run by each individual restaurant and the safety protocols may be different. You will definitely want to inquire at each eatery about the gluten free options and their individual safety protocols.

One of the top fan favorites is Tortilla Jo’s. Tortilla Jo’s is a sit down restaurant that offers Mexican cuisine. I am told they have well trained staff and safety procedures in place for their gluten free patrons. They also have a quick service spot attached to them called Taqueria, which doesn't have quite the extensive menu as the sit down option.

Looking for a really good burger option then you’ll definitely want to give Ballast Point a try. While they do not have a dedicated gluten-free menu you can get a gluten-free bun and many of the menu options can be made gluten-free. FYI I have been told that their fryer for fries is not a dedicated fryer if that is a concern for you. Black Tap is also another spot that offers gluten free buns as well.

Wanting a sweet treat? Then you will definitely want to stop by sprinkles cupcakes. They always have at least one or two flavors that are gluten-free and sometimes even a cookie as well.

Need a little spice in your life? Swing on by Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen for some New Orleans cuisine. I hear the jambalaya (substitute the pasta for rice) is delightfully delicious!

Did you know there is a bowling alley in Downtown Disney? It’s called Splitsville. Splitsville has several gluten free sushi options on their menu. I believe they have a few other items not on the menu that they can make gluten free as well.

And last but not least if you are looking for a fun spot to sit with friends and enjoy an adult beverage you will want to check out the Uva Bar and also the Catal Restaurant. I’ve been told they have a variety of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages as well as some tasty appetizers to enjoy.

As you can see you definitely won’t leave hungry after visiting the Downtown Disney District. There are definitely a variety of cuisines to satisfy your food cravings, even more than I have listed. The Downtown Disney District is always changing with new restaurants and experiences being added each year.
