As a gluten-free eater for the past 16 years, I’ve learned to be extra cautious when it comes to dining out. That’s why I was excited to try out Café Daisy, the new restaurant in Toontown at Disneyland that offers gluten allergy friendly options.

One of the best parts of dining at Café Daisy in Disneyland is the convenience of mobile ordering. This is a quick service restaurant which means no reservations needed! Instead of waiting in a long line, I simply pulled out my phone opened a Disneyland app, and place my Mobile order from wherever I was in the park. This allowed me to save time and enjoy more of my day at the happiest place on earth. However, it is important to note that sometimes mobile order wait times can be long, so if you’re planning to dine at Café Daisy, you may want to schedule your order earlier in the day to avoid delays.

Upon entering, the restaurant (seating is all outdoors), I was immediately struck by the fun and whimsical decor, which fits in perfectly with the Toontown theme. But what really caught my attention was the menu, which offered not one, but two gluten allergy friendly pizza options- the Cheesy Pizza Flop Over and the Pepperoni Pizza Flop over.

As someone who has had her fair share of gluten-free pizza over the years, I was blown away by the thickness of the crust on these pizzas. I had to do a double take- in all my years of being gluten-free I have never had a thick crust like this. The texture was perfect with a slight crunch on the outside, and a soft doughy center.

While I enjoyed the pizzas themselves, the side of the chili cheese sauce was not my favorite. its flavor was a bit too strong, and it overpowered the flavor of the pizza. I’d suggest skipping it.

One thing to note about the gluten allergy friendly pizzas at Café Daisy is that they are big and easily shareable. So if you are dining with a group, you might want to consider ordering a few and splitting them up. And those with a dairy or milk allergy sorry this dish can not be made without the cheese or with a cheese substitute at this time.

Overall, I was impressed with Café Daisy and its dedication to providing gluten allergy friendly options that don’t sacrifice taste or texture.  If you are in Toontown, be sure to give them a try!
